Listen, when I was traveling by bus to Fernie, British Columbia, the tool album “Lateralus”, I thought, life, creation and similar issues of uncertainty. I thought the things we understand or believe and understand things that we do not. We adopted a tree near the highway and I thought how it came from a seed that was eventually fertilized in the past. Then I tried to think of where the seed that the tree had been created and established that it probably came from another tree. It’s the easy answer. I realized that the things we think we know or understand, we are such a great imagination, we can not begin to understand the created.
My friend Jeff has this very interesting photographs of smoke rings by an artist named Donald Sultan. I always found it fascinating and visually compared to the respect I have for pictures on what I feel for my painting “hint” of a favorite Russian artist named Vladimir Ignatovic and what I feel for the work of Mark Rothko. I feel I have something original and extremely useful and for once, something that is creative in what I feel and I am very proud to have thought materialized thought. I felt a sense of serenity that improves my mood for the day and continue to persist today. I realized how important it is healthy and lean back from time to time and I was thinking about nothing.
